Gillian Mead

Congratulations to Professor Gillian Mead (CCBS and Geriatric Medicine) on being awarded the William Farr Medal in recognition of her major contribution to the promotion of safe and effective exercise for frail and older stroke survivors.

The prestigious accolade honours medical practitioners who have made a significant contribution to the management of elderly people as part of original innovative work in the UK. The medal will be awarded in May 2016 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London.

Previous recipients include our own Martin Dennis, Professor of Stroke Medicine in CCBS, and the first President of the British Society of Stroke Physicians.
