Chaplaincy Listener - Jem Crawley
Jem Crawley is one of the resident Chaplaincy Listeners.
Jem joined the Chaplaincy team at the University of Edinburgh in 2022.
“After applying to Edinburgh University twice and being rejected both times, I realised they would only accept me if I got a job at the university. I studied for my undergraduate degree at the University of Glasgow and received my COSCA Listening Skills certificate in 2021. To continue my path in listening skills, I recently began studying for an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have experienced the benefits of listening skills as a listener and listenee. In the past, I have mainly worked with charities supporting youth, students, the homeless and asylum seekers. I particularly like to look at the world through stories and how we tell them, and I if you’re looking for someone to listen, I would love to hear your story too.”
