Revd James Patron Bell

James serves as the minister at the City of Edinburgh Methodist Church (edinburghmethodist.com/), which is on Nicolson Square.

He joined the Honorary Team in 2020. He spent his youth in northwest Wales and he is a Welsh speaker, though since then he’ve moved around the UK quite a bit.

His background is in geography and geospatial science, from this an interest in how context and place are defined and how it influences our faith practice has developed.

His free time is spent with family, also in reading (especially fantasy, science-fiction and urban fantasy), and visiting castles and other historic sites, but he's not keen on beaches.
