Randomised hospitals

Hospitals randomised to AFFIRM.

Sites randomised for the first cluster are:

  • Borders General Hospital, Melrose
  • Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy
  • NHS Lothian, SCRH RIE, Edinburgh
  • NHS Lothian, St John’s Hospital, Livingston
  • Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital, Belfast

Sites randomised for the second cluster are:

  • NHS Tayside, Ninewells, Dundee
  • NHS Forth Valley, Stirling Royal, Larbert
  • Blackpool Women’s Hospital, Blackpool
  • Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan

These sites will start the intervention on 1st August 2014.

Sites randomised for the third cluster are:

  • Southern General Hospital, Glasgow
  • Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley
  • Princess Royal Maternity Hospital, Glasgow

These sites will start the intervention on 1st November 2014.

Sites randomised for the fourth cluster are:

  • National Maternity Hospital, Dublin
  • St George’s Hospital, London
  • Royal Preston Hospital, Preston
  • Nevill Hall Hospital, Gwent

These sites will start the intervention on 1st February 2015.

Sites randomised for the fifth cluster are :

  • St. Mary’s Hospital, Manchester
  • Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport.
  • Cresswell Maternity Wing, Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries.
  • University Hospital Crosshouse, Ayrshire & Arran NHS Trust
  • Leeds University Hospitals NHS Trust

These sites will start the intervention on 1st May 2015.

Sites randomised for the sixth cluster are :

  • Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, S. Ireland.
  • Galway Hospital, S. Ireland
  • Ysbyty Gwynnedd Hospital, NHS Wales.
  • Glan Clwyd Hospital, NHS Wales
  • Wrexham Maelor, NHS Wales

These sites will start the intervention on 1st August 2015.

Sites randomised for the seventh cluster are :

  • Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin
  • Aberdeen Maternity Hospital
  • Raigmore Hospital, Inverness
  • Birmingham Women’s NHS Trust

These sites will start the intervention on 1st November 2016

Sites randomised for the eighth cluster are :

  • Wishaw General, NHS Lanarkshire.
  • Royal Gwent, Aneurin Bevan HB.
  • Worthing Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex.
  • St. Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex.
  • Sandwell General, West Midlands

These sites will start intevention on 1 February 2016.

All clusters are now randomised.
