CRH PhD students attend Ingenious Women Workshops

MRC CRH PhD students Melissa Tharmalingam and Gabriele Matilionyte from the Mitchell lab attended the Ingenious Women 2018 workshops (IWScot2018), funded by the Scottish Funding Council.

This programme was led by Dr Sara Shinton (Head of IAD) and Janet Wilkinson (Founder of 3x3 Consulting) and was attended by women in STEM who are at their early stages of career and work in Scotland.

CRH’s Melissa and Gabriele were selected along with 30 other women from institutions across the country, which was a great honour.

Workshops ran over three weekends in April, May and June. The topics covered were creativity, money, resilience, control, time management and many more.

The beauty of this programme was that it did not just suggest a single way on how to be successful but rather empowered the individuality of each woman. It also allowed women to share their ups and downs, achievements and struggles in a very friendly and supportive environment.

IWScot2018 cohort is going to organise a number of seminars to share the knowledge that they received during these workshops. In the meantime, feel free to get in touch with Melissa and Gabriele if you want to chat about this programme.
