Success in Vancouver for Dr Erin Greaves

Dr Erin Greaves, Principal Investigator at MRC Centre for Reproductive Health, was presented with the prestigious David Healy Award for best scientific presentation at the triannual World Congress in Endometriosis (WCE2017) in Vancouver last month.

Dr Greaves is a member of the EXPPECT Centre for Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain team at MRC Centre for Reproductive Health, led by Professor Andrew Horne, Professor Philippa Saunders and Dr Erin Greaves. This service consists of a multidisciplinary team that aims to provide state-of-the-art, high quality, evidence based and patient-centred treatment for the management of all grades of endometriosis.

The team had a strong presence at the WCE2017, with Professor Andrew Horne presenting the results from the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership for Endometriosis. This research was published in The Lancet and also achieved national press coverage in The Sun:

Postdoctoral researcher Furquan Ahmad presented his research on the use of anti-cancer drugs to treat endometriosis associated pain. This also generated national press coverage, in the Daily Mail online:

Finally, Chris Graham, a medical student at The University of Edinburgh, presented his work on pain imagery in women with endometriosis and was also the winner of the WCE2017 charity run, which raised funds for the World Endometriosis Research Foundation’s EPHect project and the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation.
