Since 2012 Professor Andrew Horne, Professor of Gynaecology and Reproductive Sciences, has been investigating a group of genes that are thought to play a vital role in the development of endometriosis. He has discovered that endometriosis cells behave in a similar way to cancer cells. It is therefore expected that the drugs used to treat cancer will treat endometriosis just as effectively.

Professor Horne is speaking and answering questions at the Wellbeing of Women’s seminar Endometriosis: The 1 in 10, on Thursday, June 29, 6pm to 8pm, at The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole St, London W1G 0AE.
