ESPriT clinical trial
ESPriT is a randomised controlled feasibility trial evaluating the effectiveness of laparoscopic treatment of isolated Superficial Peritoneal endometriosis for managing chronic pelvic pain in women.
Why?
To inform the design of and assess the feasibility of a future definitive trial to determine whether surgical treatment of superficial peritoneal endometriosis improves overall symptoms and quality of life more than not surgically treating the endometriosis, or whether surgery could exacerbate symptoms, or even cause harm.
Who?
Women who are undergoing laparoscopy to determine whether pelvic pain is due to endometriosis.
Where?
Multi centre across Scotland
