Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit ECTU

The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) is based at the Western General Hospital Campus. Established in 2006 by the current Clinical Director, CGEM’s Professor Stuart Ralston, ECTU acts as a centre-point for the clinical trial activity undertaken across the University and NHS Lothian, and works to enable the establishment and continuance of infrastructure to ensure the good conduct and compliance of clinical studies. ECTU is able to offer assistance with the design and planning of clinical trials (in collaboration with the MRC Clinical Trials Methodology Hub), and will support and manage the conduct of trials adopted into its portfolio.
