Why become a Change Agent?
By becoming a ‘change agent,’ you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to the real world, with the potential to have a genuine impact and contribute to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
You will make contacts in external organisations and find out more about real, complex challenges facing our world today. Importantly, you will learn and practise the skills needed to tackle these challenges, so you are able to make a difference.. You'll get the chance to work with students from other subjects and other levels of study to develop fresh thinking and become more aware of your own thinking style and strengths as a result.
I thought it was a fantastic opportunity during the current circumstances to be a part of something that was so much more than something that could look good on a CV. Through participating in the programme, I really pushed myself to enhance my own skillset whilst working with a really amazing team.
Participating the programme will help increase your confidence and develop your skills in:
- Critical thinking
- Design thinking
- Project management
- Problem solving
- Public speaking
- Team work
- Time management
- Using data to solve problems
- Multimedia creation
- Online working and collaboration
You may also have fun and make new friends!
Students as Change Agents gave me a good networking opportunity. The members of my group have become my lifelong friends and part of my professional network.
