Advice booklets

Come into the Careers Service to collect copies of our range of free booklets which have been written by Careers Consultants specifically for University of Edinburgh students and graduates.

Explaining international qualifications to employers - this leaflet provides advice on how to present international qualifications to employers on CVs and application forms.

Example CVs and covering letters

You can look at example CVs and covering letters in our careers information centres. They can give you ideas about content and layout. Don't slavishly copy them, but instead use them to help you find a style and layout you feel comfortable with. You can also find examples in our Effective Applications booklets, on other Career Service websites and at the websites listed below.

Creative CVs

For certain sectors, particularly the creative arts, the CV is an opportunity to showcase design skills and provide an insight into the candidate's personal brand. For advice and inspiration for designing a creative CV, check out our Creative CV Pinterest board.

Academic CVs
