Information for employers

The University of Edinburgh offers a diverse, high calibre pool of talent: over 45,400 students studying in areas of international research excellence, including over 500 undergraduate courses. And with 124 nationalities, we are a truly global community too.

We’re here to help you connect with our talent. The Careers Service has a dedicated team, specialised in advice and support for organisations thinking about recruiting or developing University of Edinburgh students and graduates.

Let us help you to build your profile with, and recruit, our students and graduates. We can also provide a gateway to the University as a whole. We look forward to working with you.

Marking and Assessment Boycott: Information on the Graduating Year 2023:

You may be aware of national industrial action which is impacting the availability of results for many students across the UK due to graduate this summer.  We are doing all we can to minimise the disruption and maintain our academic standards.  This means some students may not have all their marks at the usual point in the academic cycle, and therefore the University will be unable to confirm their degree until those marks are available.  The majority of our students will graduate as planned, but we know it is frustrating and concerning for students who are effected. Students can access a document which displays the marks achieved for their completed courses, and those courses where marks have been delayed as a result of the Marking and Assessment Boycott. This will help both them and you understand their specific situation.

The Careers Service continues to support students through their career planning journey. We hope you will be understanding of their situation and provide as much flexibility as possible while this situation continues. If you have any questions or we can support you to recruit our talented students, please get in touch with us at employers@ed.ac.uk

List your vacancies and events

We can help you promote your organisation, opportunities and events to our students and recent graduates by listing them on our online portal, MyCareerHub. We recommend this as a first step, and it’s free of charge.

Raise awareness

Beyond listing your organisation, vacancies and events on MyCareerHub we offer a range of additional services to help you raise awareness of what you offer, attract applicants and convert them into outstanding recruits. We want to help facilitate meaningful interactions between you and students, and we are always open to discussing options - please get in touch if you don't see something that feels right for you.

Why recruit from us

We are confident that our students and graduates can make a positive impact on your organisation. Let us show you why we think you will find it worthwhile to target us for recruitment.

Connect with the wider University

The Careers Service is uniquely placed to connect you to all parts of the University from staff in academic schools to student societies.
