Details of our services to students and graduates including information and advice drop-ins, appointments and our information resources

Info & advice drop-in

We'll help you get started - just come in and see us. No need to make an appointment.  

We offer an in-person information and general advice service Monday - Friday.

We'll give quick feedback on CVs, applications and LinkedIn profiles; for more in-depth feedback please book a feedback appointment.

Winter vacation:

  • On Monday 23 December there will be no drop-in at Murchison House, KB
  • On Tuesday 24 December the drop-in at Main Library Building will run from 11 - 2pm.
  • We open again on Monday 6 January 2020.

Ask a question via MyCareerHub

Current University of Edinburgh students and graduates  (up to 2 years after graduation) can send questions to us using the Ask A Question facility on MyCareerHub.

We will reply  within 3 working days.

Unfortunately we cannot offer CV or applications feedback as part of this service.

Appointments

For some enquiries, we ask that you book an appointment:

Feedback on CVs, covering letters, personal statements, applications, LinkedIn profiles (20 minutes)

Careers guidance to discuss any topic (20 minutes)

Practice interviews to practise and get feedback (45 minutes)

We encourage you to make full use of resources as they will often give you the answers you need. If you would still like to book an appointment, check out the relevant resources below and follow our advice – this will ensure you make the most of your appointment with the adviser

Careers Consultant caseloads

While our Careers Consultants have school-based caseloads, all are experienced at working with a range of students and graduates. You can make an appointment with any Consultant.
