The Centre for Cardiovascular Science is pleased to announce that its Research Integrity Team has been nominated for a 2021 staff recognition award.
From over 350 submitted nominations, the Centre for Cardiovascular Science’s Research Integrity Team was shortlisted for the 2021 Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion staff recognition award. The CVS Research Integrity Team comprises of a mix of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, clinical staff, support staff, and principal investigators.
The group meets regularly and works to maintain the highest standards of rigour and integrity in all aspects of cardiovascular research. They focus on maintaining ethical, legal and professional research frameworks, but also devote their time to improving internal research culture and promoting an inclusive, supportive environment for both students and staff.
We are delighted to be shortlisted, recognising a true team effort in promoting a positive and inclusive research culture in CVS.
This year, the University of Edinburgh’s College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine introduced a new award scheme to recognise individual and collective achievements. Staff and students within the College were invited to nominate individuals or groups for a variety of different award categories, including outstanding colleague, team excellence, community engagement, innovation, and student experience, among others.
The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion award is given to an individual or group who “make(s) an outstanding contribution to progressing equality, diversity and inclusion at the University. It recognises those who celebrate diversity and difference, and encourage others to do the same. It recognises those who challenge discrimination and unfairness by working to eliminate such inequity and make the workplace accessible to all.”
The winners of the staff recognition awards were announced in a virtual award ceremony on 19 April.
