Congratulations to Craig Fraser, Neil Carragher and Asier Unciti-Broceta whose article entitled "eCF309: a potent, selective and cell-permeable mTOR inhibitor" published recently in the Royal Society of Chemistry journal "Medicinal Chemistry Communications" (MedChemComm) has been named "2016 Hot Article" and made it to the journal cover. The paper describes identification of a novel, promissing mTOR inhibitor (mTOR signalling pathway plays important role in multiple cancer types) and represents an example of high quality innovative work performed within the Edinburgh Cancer Discovery Unit of which both Asier's "Innovative Therapeutics" group and Neil's "Drug Discovery" group are an integral part. The article has been included in the Themed Collection "New Talent: Europe", which showcases some of the top research from emerging research leaders from Europe.
