Rederivation

Information about services offered for rederiving transgenic lines

Under which circumstances is rederivation used?

  • Importing established lines from another research facility, when import of live animals is not an option.
  • Removing pathogens that exist in a breeding colony that are detrimental to the investigators research.
  • Moving animals between BVS facilities with different health status.
  • Reviving a line which has been cryopreserved by CTC in the past.
  • Deleting a floxed fragment: In vitro TAT-CRE treatment of embryos can be used as an alternative to crossing animals with a constitutive CRE-deleter line.

There are several options for rederivation:

  1. In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) using fresh or frozen sperm
  2. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) of fresh or frozen sperm
  3. Embryo transfer using fresh or frozen embryos

Please contact the CTC manager for a quote and to discuss your requirements.
