MSc by Research in Integrative Neuroscience

Application guidelines

Our programme has some unique guidelines; make sure you're familiar with these before you apply.

There's no need to contact research groups before you start

The programme is designed such that you will meet a number of potential supervisors for your laboratory project(s) during the first taught phase to find the best match of your interests with the neuroscience research groups in Edinburgh.

You don't need to have a research project planned in order to apply

You will be exposed to many different areas of Neuroscience in the first semester and may find yourself interested in something new. Please enter 'not needed' if prompted for a research proposal or topic during the application process.

You can apply with your interim transcripts

You can apply with your interim transcripts and do a language test (if required) at a later date. Early application can result in a conditional offer that reserves your space on course. This will be converted into an unconditional offer once all documents are received and approved.

International students

International students from outside the EU (excluding Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) will need a Tier 4 General visa to cover a period of study greater than 6 months.
