Lynda-Marie Taurasi is a mature, international student studying the MSc Science Communication and Public Engagement at the University of Edinburgh. For her dissertation project on the Master’s programme, she is producing a public engagement resource to raise awareness of a Distance Learning Program for Ghanaian Nurse Anesthetists.

Her dissertation project is a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and Duke University’s Duke Global Health Institute. As part of her project, she visited Ghana to capture the experiences of nurse anaesthetists through video, photographs and articles, now hosted on the Duke University’s Duke Global Health Institute website.  The resource is designed to raise awareness of the Distance Learning Program for Ghanaian Nurse Anaesthetists for policy-makers, funders, health organisations and potential students on the programme.

It has been Lynda-Marie’s  lifelong dream to live and study in Scotland and wishes to make it her permanent home. Two years ago, while visiting family in Scotland for Christmas, she decided to make her dream happen and she applied and was accepted onto the MSc Science Communication and Public Engagement programme.

As a result of her work in Ghana Lynda-Marie has been offered a University of Edinburgh Entrepreneur visa.
