Sustainability Award successes

This year saw another great success for SBMS in the University sustainability awards. The awards, run by the University's Students' Association and the Sustainability Office, rewards the efforts of staff and students to make their departments more sustainable and socially responsible.

Chancellors Building at Little France and Hugh Robson Building in George Square both gained Gold for the second year running, with Cathy Doherty at Chancellor's gaining an award for outstanding personal service.

The BMTO/Anatomy at Teviot and CCNS at 1 George Square gained Silver for the second year in a row.

Sustainable labs

In the special lab section HRB was awarded a Bronze award whilst the Chancellors team received Gold.

The SBMS technical team have also got through the first round of the S-lab sustainability awards and will be presenting at their national conference in Liverpool in June.

Student involvement

Students were heavily involved in the Sustainability Awards, both in raising awareness of sustainability issues, and in auditing all applicants' workbooks and departments.
