New Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales

Congratulations to Prof Jamie Davies, Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences, who was recently elected a Fellow to the Learned Society of Wales.

Prof Davies is a Professor of Experimental Anatomy and works on the embryonic development of the kidney. In effect, his research has meant that mini-kidneys can be made from stem cells, vastly improving the study of kidney development, the testing of drugs and the treatment of kidney disease.

Prof Davies joins over 680 elected Fellows in the Society, who all represent excellence in the sciences, humanities, arts, social sciences and other fields.  Becoming a Fellow at the Society is a public recognition of their outstanding contribution to the world of learning and have a demonstrable connection to Wales.
