The alliance aims to provide real input and support into workable models, governance, policies, student regulations & experience, marketing etc in addition to how research programmes and commercialisation can be built around the Joint institutes.

In the newly established co-chair role, Professor Welburn will convene the alliance meetings, ensure the proprieties remain focused and aligned with its objectives, and act as a spokesperson for the alliance.

Professor Welburn chaired the first meeting of the alliance on Friday 9 March where the administration discussed plans for future collaborations and funding management.
