Changing courses or programme
Our guidance for Undergraduate students within the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences on what to do if you decide you would like to change your choice of courses or programme.
If you feel you've made a wrong choice of elective course, it is most important that you talk this over with your Personal Tutor as soon as possible. You are not normally allowed to change courses after a course has been running for two weeks because of the difficulty of catching up with the material you will have missed in a new course; special permission for such a change has to be sought from the Director of Teaching in the BMTO by your Personal Tutor. Remember, Personal Tutors will have teaching, research or other commitments, so please contact them in good time if you wish to change a course.
If you decide you're more interested in another honours discipline then you can apply to transfer to that discipline as long as you meet the course requirements for the new discipline. The transfer process and deadlines can be found on our page about academic transfers.
Timing your decision
Transfers from the Biomedical Sciences programme to the Medical Sciences programme can only occur at the end of first year.
