You will need at least a 2:1 at undergraduate level in a relevant science degree and, if applicable, proven proficiency in English.
Degree requirements
You will need a strong background, at least a 2:1 or its equivalent at undergraduate level, in one or more of the following areas:
- Bioinformatics
- Computer sciences and modelling
- Molecular Biology
- Engineering
- Biotechnology
If you have a background in physics, mathematics or another relevant discipline you may still be eligible. This is considered on a case-by case basis, please contact us with details of your qualifications before applying so we can assess your suitability.

English language requirements
If English is not your first language, you must be able to meet the minimum standards that are set out by the College and recommended by the University.
You can find further information on specific conditions and exemptions, as well as suitable forms of documentation, on the International students website.
If your language skills only meet the lower end of the requirements, the English Language Teaching Centre at the University run several courses in English for Academic Purposes. You can enrol in one of the August courses before starting the programme in September.
