Postgraduate studentships

Information about research projects, funding sources and making an application.

Molecular Plant Sciences has over 30 PhD students working in different areas of plant and fungal biology, often in collaboration with other institutes in Edinburgh or elsewhere.

Training of PhD students is underpinned by the Edinburgh Graduate School of Biology and by the PhD student and researcher society BioDocSoc. The School of Biological Sciences is also a member of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership (EastBio), which provides further opportunities for training, networking and work placements.

A number of fully-funded studentships are awarded each year. These include 4-year BBSRC and Industrial CASE studentships.
