Postdocs

Dr Norman Nausch (2008-2014):

  • Norman was a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Research Fellow involved in several projects with the Parasite Immuno-epidemiology Group.
  • Norman is now working for the Department of General Pediatrics, Neonatology and Pediatric Cardiology at the University Childrens Hospital, Germany.

PhD students

Grace Zdesenko (2018 -2023)

  • Grace was part of the Precision Medicine doctoral programme and her PhD project was titled "Factors influencing the efficacy of Praziquantel in a schistosome-exposed population"

Welcome Wami (2012-2015)

  • Welcome's project at Parasite Immuno-epidemiology Group
  • After completing his PhD research, Welcome continued with the group as a research assistant.
  • Welcome is now a Research Associate jointly with the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, University of Glasgow and Glasgow Centre for Population Health.

Laura Appleby (2008-2014)

  • Laura is now a Programme Manager, NTD Control Partnership for Child Development, Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Imperial College London

Nadine Rujeni (2009-2012)

  • Nadine was funded by the Rotary University Scholarship Scheme Rwanda (RUSSR) and was working on helminth-specific and atopy immune responses in Zimbabwean children aged below 6 years of age.
  • Nadine is now a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda

Claire Bourke (2007-2011)

  • Claire is now a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Queen Mary University of London

Melissa Higon (2008-2010)

  • PhD student - In collaboration with the University of Valencia, Spain.
