We do not currently have any funding to hire postdocs. However, we are always very keen to support applications for postdoctoral fellowships and to discuss possible projects. Please get in contact to discuss plans in more details. Examples of possible postdoctoral fellowships include:

• Human Frontier Science Program

• EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships

• Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships

• The Royal Society Newton International Fellowships

We are currently not taking applications for PhD students. However, if you are interested in finding about more about a PhD in the group please contact Sandy Hetherington with a copy of your CV and a description of why you are interested in joining the group.

Competitive PhD funding is available annually from three separate Edinburgh funding sources, the EASTBIO, E4 and The Darwin Trust of Edinburgh. Details of how to apply can be found on each specific website and also on the central How Do I Apply for PhD Funding? website run by the School of Biological Sciences.

If you would like to carry out your Masters research in the group please consider applying to one of the Masters degrees offered by Edinburgh University. Examples of suitable Masters degrees include:

• Palaeontology and Geobiology MScR run by the School of Geosciences
• MSc Bioinformatics, run by the School of Biological Sciences
• MSc Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants run jointly between Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and Edinburgh University
