Edinburgh Innovations: Now is the time to innovate

Edinburgh Innovations, the University’s commercialisation service, has streamlined procedures and launched new initiatives to help researchers and commercial organisations collaborate to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic and build resilience in the private and public sectors.

More than 40 Covid-19-related collaborations are already under way, ranging from increasing sanitiser production and developing a point-of-care test to data-driven and healthtech research projects.

Will your project be next? University staff and external organisations can contact EI’s Business Development team to learn how EI can help you collaborate.

Rapid Response opportunities

Rapid Response is an EI initiative funded by the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account providing quick-turnaround opportunities for researchers work with external organisations to help them adapt and build resilience.

The Rapid Response initiative has three initial routes to innovation: workshops allowing external organisations to pose specific challenges to academic experts; ‘Explore’, a series of webinars and Q&A sessions between academics and the commercial sector; and a fast-track funding call for collaborative projects or virtual secondments in either direction.
