Bayes Centre News: Bayes Centre Welcomes visit from UK Science Minister Amanda Solloway MP

The Bayes Centre was pleased to host UK Science Minster Amanda Solloway MP.

The UK Science Minister Amanda Solloway MP visited the Bayes Centre on the 24th June and took a tour of the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics, where she met the team from the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics and Valkyrie, the NASA R5 robot that is designed to be a robust, rugged, entirely electric humanoid robot capable of operating in environments that are unsafe or inaccessible to humans.

The Minister was visiting to celebrate the role of technology such as robotics as a key part of the Covid-19 recovery and in the ambition to rebuild the economy.

The Minister was able to attend a socially distanced presentation to better understand the advanced work being undertaken at the University of Edinburgh.
