Partner event: Establishing a national vision for Data-Centric Biological Design

About this event:

This  event will support the development of a white paper that lays out how AI will transform engineering biology in a roadmap to 2030.  Intended deliverables include:

  • Workshop at the Turing Institute for 20–30 key figures in Synthetic Biology or leading areas of Data Science applicable to Engineering Biology.
  • White paper: “Data-centric approaches for engineering biology: a roadmap to 2030”.
  • Application for a Turing Special Interest Group to build longer-term momentum

Partner event: Establishing a national vision for Data-Centric Biological Design

A collaboration between Edinburgh and Bristol. AI and Synthetic Biology are both top strategic priorities for the UKRI. Data-centric approaches are beginning to play an increasingly important role in the development of highly predictive models that can support biological design, yet many of the existing research programs in this area are disjoint, lacking a clear long-term vision and a community to support future growth and development.
