Your qualifications may not meet our requirements or may not be accepted by the University.

If you have been told that you are unqualified, it may be that your application falls into one of the following situations:

  • You have not met the University's English language entry requirements

Entry requirements

  • The subjects that you have studied, or are studying, are not accepted for entry. For applicants studying SQA Highers and GCE A-levels please see the list of approved subjects for University entry

  • You do not meet the subject specific entry requirements for the degree for which you have applied. Examples of degrees with specific requirements include Architecture, Business (including Accounting & Finance), Economics, Languages, Law and Psychology.
