Professor Linda McKie has been appointed as the Head of School of Social and Political Science.
Professor McKie is one of four recent senior appointments in the College.
The Business School, School of Economics and Edinburgh Law School are also welcoming newly appointed Heads of School.
Professor Linda McKie
Professor McKie joins Edinburgh from the University of Durham where she was Head of the School of Applied Social Sciences. She has held posts at the universities of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian researching and teaching in the sociologies of health and illness, gender and work, and research methods and management.
Senior appointments
Professor Wendy Loretto
Professor Wendy Loretto is the new Dean of the Business School. Professor Loretto has been at the helm of the School since August 2016 in an interim role, having previously held the Deputy Dean role in 2015/16 and Director of Research from 2013-15.
Professor Tim Worrall
Professor Tim Worrall has been appointed Head of the School of Economics. Professor Worrall is a Professor of Economics and was formerly deputy head of the School. He has previously held posts at the University of Western Ontario, Reading University, Liverpool University, Keele University and the University of Manchester.
Professor Martin Hogg
Professor Martin Hogg takes up post as Head of School and Dean of Law. Professor Hogg has previously held office as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law, as well as Director of Undergraduate Studies, Director of Teaching, Deputy Director of Research, and Convener of the Board of Studies.
