High School Graduation Diploma with at least five 40S courses at 80%.

New Brunswick

High School Graduation Diploma with six Grade 12 academic subjects (120, 121, 122) at 80%.

Newfoundland and Labrador

High School Graduation Diploma with 10 academic credits at 3000 level and 80% overall.

Northwest Territories

High School Graduation Diploma with five Grade 12 subjects numbered 30/31 at 80%.

Nova Scotia

High School Diploma with five Grade 12 subjects at 80%.

Nunavut

Nunavut Senior Secondary School Graduation Diploma with five Grade 12 subjects numbered 30/31 at 80%.

Ontario

Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six 4M/U courses at 80% (with no more than two 4M courses).

Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward High School Graduation Diploma with five Grade 12 subjects numbered 611/621 at 80%.

Quebec

Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales (DEC) with an overall average of 75%. Please note that we do not accept the one year Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP).

Saskatchewan

Record of Secondary Level Standing – Complete Division IV Grade 12 Standing with five Grade 12 subjects numbered 30 at 80%.

Yukon

Secondary School Graduation Diploma with at least five Grade 12 Subjects at 80%.

Subject Specific Requirements

Where we ask applicants taking Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Highers and National 5s for specific subjects, we will ask you for comparable subjects in your qualifications. Subject specific requirements for applicants with Canadian qualifications are as follows:

Acoustics and Music Technology

Grade 12 Calculus at 85% (80% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales), plus 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales) in Grade 12 Physics. Pre-Calculus, Maths of Data Management, Foundation of Math 120 is not accepted.

Architecture

Grade 11 Mathematics* at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

It is preferable that applicants provide evidence of artistic ability through assessed work. If applicants are unable to offer this evidence, and are otherwise qualified, a portfolio will likely be requested.

Business School degrees and joint degrees with Business

Grade 11 Mathematics* at 70% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

Cognitive Science

Grade 12 Mathematics* at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

Economics, joint degrees with Economics and degrees which require Quantitative Methods

Grade 12 Mathematics* at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

For our Economics & Statistics and Economics & Mathematics degrees we require Grade 12 Mathematics* at 85% (80% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

English / Scottish Literature and joint degrees with English / Scottish Literature

Alberta: English Language Arts (ELA) 30-2 at 80%.

British Columbia: English Literature 12 (old)/Literary Studies 12 (new) at 80%.

New Brunswick: English 121 or Canadian Literature (recommended if available) at 80%.

Ontario: ENG4U or ETS4C Studies in Literature (recommended if available). ENG4U meets our requirements if ETS4C not taken. We do not usually accept The Writer's Craft 4U for our Literature degrees.

Quebec: 2 years/4 semesters of pre-university Literature at 75%.

Language degrees and joint degrees with a language

A language other than English at 80% in Grade 12 (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales) is required for most language degrees.

A language other than English at 80% in Grade 11 is required for Arabic; Chinese; Japanese.

A language other than English at 70% in Grade 11 is required for Celtic; German; Italian; Russian; Scandinavian.

For French degrees, including joint degrees with French, applicants must have previous French study-this can be at Grade 11 or above.

Please note that for degrees that have a subject requirement of a language other than English, students may not use their own native language to meet this requirement. In these instances, English or an alternative language other than native will be acceptable.

Law and joint degrees with Law

Grade 12 English is required at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales). English Language, English Literature or a combination of both at Grade 12 can be accepted.

Alberta and NW Territories: English Language Arts (ELA) 30-1 or English Language Arts (ELA) 30-2 at 80%.

British Columbia: English Language Arts 12/English Literature 12 at 80% (old). English Studies 12/Literary Studies 12 (new) at 80%.

New Brunswick: English 121, English 122 or Canadian Literature 120 at 80%.

Ontario: ENG4U at 80%.

Quebec: 2 years/4 semesters of pre-university English at 75%.

Nursing

50% in Grade 11 Mathematics*. (Revised 19/11/18 to reflect that we no longer require Biology and reducing Maths to 50%)

Psychology (BSc) and joint MA degrees with Psychology

Grade 12 Mathematics* at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales).

If Mathematics is not taken in Grade 12, Grade 11 Mathematics* at 80% (75% for Diplome D'Etudes Collegiales) can be accepted alongside one of Grade 12 Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Geology, Physics or Psychology at 80%.
