Associate Dean (Knowledge Exchange and Impact)
The Associate Dean (Knowledge Exchange & Impact) works with the Dean of Research in providing leadership on Knowledge Exchange and Impact across the College.
The Associate Dean is a part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment for a period of 3 years.
S/he may be asked to assist the Dean in representing the College both within and beyond the university at a range of relevant research fora, including the College Research Committee.
The Associate Dean focuses on developing, articulating and monitoring strategies for Knowledge Exchange (KE) and Research Impact in the College, in line with University and external standards. S/he carries the responsibility for providing academic vision and leadership for all matters relating to KE/Impact, particularly with a view to the College’s preparations for REF 2021. S/he is responsible for the communication of good practice in these areas across the College.
The Associate Dean liaises both within and beyond CAHSS, with his/her counterparts in the other Colleges, and with colleagues in Old College. The Associate Dean has responsibility for convening the College Knowledge Exchange Committee. S/he is expected to work closely with the research directors in individual Schools, and with the CAHSS Research and KE offices and their staff.
The overall responsibility for the planning and development of College research strategy and policy rests with the Head of College in association with the Dean of Research. Formal professional line management of this Associate Dean post is provided by the Dean of Research. The Associate Dean is supported by the administrative staff in the College’s Research Office.
