Associate Dean (Research Ethics & Integrity)
The Associate Dean (Research Ethics & Integrity) is responsible for leading the development of the College Research Ethics Strategy and for coordinating the academic management of research ethics and integrity for the College as a whole.
The Associate Dean (Research Ethics & Integrity) is a part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment for a period of 3 years.
S/he is responsible for maintaining and developing a strong ethical culture within the College, and for ensuring that College policy and practice reflects sector-wide good practice. S/he carries the responsibility for providing academic vision and leadership for all matters relating to ethics and integrity, and for the communication of good practice in these areas across the College.
The Associate Dean convenes the College Research Ethics Committee. S/he may be asked to assist the Dean in representing the College both within and beyond the university at a range of relevant research fora, including the College Research Committee and the Research Ethics and Integrity Review Group (REIRG).
The overall responsibility for the planning and development of College research strategy and policy rests with the Head of College in association with the Dean of Research. Formal professional line management of this Associate Dean post is provided by the Dean of Research. The Associate Dean is supported by the administrative staff in the College’s Research Office.
