Neil Forsyth

Chosen object: Dundee United fanzine from the 90s

Recording location: Surrey

Neil is an author, television writer and journalist originally from Dundee.  

Football was central to Neil’s childhood and student life and his first writing appeared in a Dundee United fanzine. After graduating with an MA in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, he wrote match reports for the Scotsman newspaper while working on his first book, ‘Other People’s Money’, the true-crime story of credit card fraudster Elliot Castro.  

Since moving on from match reports, he has established a successful career writing for TV and film. He is known for creating the sitcom character Bob Servant, as well as being the writer and creator of BBC drama, Guilt (2019). He has won a Royal Television Society Award and a Scottish BAFTA, and been nominated for a Writers Guild Award and an International Emmy.

Nausherwan Aziz

Nausherwan (Naush) is an MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation student at the University of Edinburgh. Originally from Pakistan, he moved to Edinburgh after studying for his undergraduate degree in Turkey.   

Naush works as a Marketing Assistant in the University of Edinburgh Business School and aspires to be an entrepreneur. An avid fan of cricket and football, his interests include cooking, public speaking and photography.
