Celebrating the Edinburgh Campaign
On Friday 16 November 2012 we enjoyed celebrating the successful completion of our £350 million fundraising campaign.
This great achievement has been made possible through the commitment of the University’s community of donors, alumni, and friends, and not only through financial donations, but also the time and talents of the University’s staff and students.
Their hard work and dedication have helped to inspire overwhelming support from our donors, and we were delighted to bring together so many of our colleagues and friends at a lunchtime celebration at the University’s landmark Informatics Forum.
We shared some special stories from the Campaign and guests heard from notable donors, and promising students who have benefited directly from Campaign support.
What is significant, and what the university is most proud of, is the campaign has funded projects that have the potential to change people's lives for the better.
About the University of Edinburgh Campaign
The Edinburgh Campaign, one of the most ambitious fundraising initiatives in Scotland's history, sought to raise £350 million to transform the University, and the many lives on which it has an impact.
In achieving this, historic buildings and spaces have been revitalised and restored for future generations, life-changing research has been made possible, and our investment in student support continues to ensure that Edinburgh attracts outstanding individuals - regardless of background or financial circumstances.
We have innovative staff and outstanding students and the generous support of our funders has ensured that many students who otherwise could not afford to come to the University are educated here.
