Alumni Weekend Update | 21 - 23 June 2013
Please join us next June to celebrate our alumni weekend - three days packed full of special events and activities for you to enjoy.
Our alumni weekend is an exclusive opportunity to reconnect with your University, friends and peers, as well as the ideal time to rediscover the beautiful city of Edinburgh. You’ll be able to find out what’s happened at the University since you graduated, visit your favourite old haunts, and much, much more…
With a varied programme of events, tours, and talks by renowned academics and current students, there really will be something for everyone! We’ll also be showcasing some exciting developments at the University, and opening up some of our cutting edge facilities for you to see.
We very much look forward to welcoming you back.
About The Weekend
Friday 21 June
Join us for a welcome reception in the Playfair Library and get your weekend off to a flying start by renewing old friendships with former classmates, mixing with fellow graduates and catching up with the alumni team.
Later we’ll be hosting a pub quiz, pitting different graduating classes against each other, all vying to be crowned the best year group.
Saturday 22 June
A day of food for thought with the General Council half-yearly meeting, including a presentation from the Head of the Dick Vet, Professor David Argyle, lunch with a special guest speaker (soon to be announced), and academic open houses, offering a fascinating insight into some of the University's latest thinking, teaching and research.
Then dance the night away at our traditional Ceilidh in Pollock Halls.
Sunday 23 June
Explore the city with special guided tours, taking you to places you may have never visited before, then relax by enjoying a BBQ in the newly-refurbished Old College Quad.
Reunions
If you're celebrating a milestone class anniversary next year, our alumni weekend is a great chance to get together to reminisce about student days, whilst also enjoying all of the activities provided throughout the three days. Please do get in touch if you’d like to organise a class reunion over this weekend.
