Sport and Exercise

Take advantage of the University's superb sport and exercise facilities long after graduation. Restrictions apply.

Gym memberships: Autumn 2021

Alumni are entitled to 'Community Membership' which offers access to the Pleasance gyms, member swimming sessions at the pool at St Leonard's Land, and group exercise classes.

World class facilities

Facilities include a state-of the-art 100-station gym, eight glass-backed championship squash courts, a number of well-equipped conditioning and sports areas and a wide variety of fitness and instructional classes for all levels of sporting ability. In addition to the Sports Centre at the Pleasance, the University has a 27-acre site for outdoor sporting activities at Peffermill Playing Fields.

Fitness Assessment and Sports Injuries Clinic (FASIC)

Since its beginning in 1988 as a 'Fitness Assessment and Sports Injuries Centre', FASIC has become one of Scotland's leading multi-disciplinary Sport and Exercise Medicine clinics. Our team of expert sports and musculoskeletal specialists will work with you to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage your injury, restoring function and performance to ensure you are at your best, every day.

Firbush outdoor centre

Firbush is the University’s centre for outdoor activities. Based on the shores of Loch Tay, only 80 miles from Edinburgh, Firbush offers an extensive programme of outdoor activities throughout the year, including family activity weeks. Activities include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, hillwalking, orienteering and mountain biking. Charges are all inclusive and cover full board, instruction and use of all centre equipment.
