Are you compiling a family history and want to find out information about relatives who studied at the University? Or perhaps you are researching a book or article and need access to one of the University's historic collections.
Based in the Main University Library in George Square, CRC look after the special collections and archives of the University. This includes our historic collections of manuscripts and archives, rare books, photographs and more, all relating to the University and its history.
CRC can do a general search of the University Archives free of charge. Detailed search requests are referred to external researchers and a charge will apply. Dependant on what information is found you can come into CRC to view the documents or alternatively items can be copied.
CRC offers a range of copying services for its readers, including digital imaging and printing from microfilm. Please note that for preservation reasons we do not photocopy any collections material. Alumni will receive a 20% discount on all digital imaging services (excluding Microfilm).
To receive your discount you must quote your matriculation number which is shown on your alumni card.
Tours can be arranged of CRC facilities which can include the Treasures Room and Viewing Gallery. Tours of the Main Library can also be arranged either as part of the same visit or as a separate tour.
