Fast Ultra-Sensitive Temperature (FUST) Probe
A fine wire copper-constantan thermocouple probe provides fast response temperature sensing.
The NOAA/ARA FUST probe provides very high frequency, fast response tenperature sensing to support the BAT probe turbulence measurement.
The FUST probe is (from 2019 fit) mounted to the Li7500 sensors housing, having been moved from its original location on the rim of the BAT probe to avoid creating local pressure disturbance on the BAT probe itself. Signal processing is undertaken on the BAT probe elecronics board, and the output signal is logged alongside the BAT probe data on the MET system Digital Logging Unit (DLU) computer.
