Communication and consultation
How we consult and communicate with key stakeholders, including postgraduate research supervisors, students and College committees.
Wide communication and consultation with all relevant stakeholders (students, supervisors Schools, Colleges and services) is an essential part of the Programme and as such the following initiatives have been undertaken.
Postgraduate Research Supervisor Network
This network (open to all doctoral supervisors) was launched on Wednesday 21 June 2017. It aims to inform supervisors of University initiatives, to consult on proposals to better support research supervision and to provide a forum for supervisors to meet and share practice.
Discussion groups with Students
In August and September 2017, discussion groups were held with PGR students from across the University. An overview of the outcomes form these discussions can be found in the Researcher Experience Committee paper REC 17/18 2B.
Each of the work streams will consults with and invite input from Colleges via the appropriate College committees.
The Senate Researcher Experience Committee acts as Programme board and will receive regular progress updates. This will ensure that the Programme and its work streams are given a central, strategic focus, and underpins the University’s commitment to enhancement of the postgraduate research student experience.
