Volunteer as a Digital Ambassador

Would you like to use your computing skills to help others? The University of Edinburgh’s Digital Ambassadors programme works with community groups to help individuals develop basic digital skills. 2 - 4 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to people needing help with basic digital skills. You will be working with people who live in Edinburgh. They will either be older people, or members of a Muslim women's group. You will either be delivering training sessions or operating a drop-in helpdesk.

Location details

Charteris Community Centre, 138/140 The Pleasance, Edinburgh, EH8 9RR and/or City of Edinburgh Libraries, various locations (full list of libraries here)

Training information

Informal training, in the form of a 1:1 or group induction, will be delivered in partnership by the University of Edinburgh, the City of Edinburgh libraries and the Charteris Community Centre. It will focus on developing 1:1 coaching skills, and listening to establish what help learners are seeking.
