You can sign up at any time by logging on to MyEd, click 'Learn' on the left hand menu, then go to the 'Self-Enrol' tab in the top right corner. Someone is in slavery if they are:

  • Forced to work - through coercion, or mental or physical threat;
  • Owned or controlled by an ‘employer’, through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse
  • Dehumanised, treated as a commodity or bought and sold as ‘property’
  • Physically constrained or have restrictions placed on their freedom of movement.

In 2016, an estimated 40.3 million people were in modern slavery globally, including 24.9 in forced labour and 15.4 million in forced marriage.
