Printing Services receive award for cycle delivery service

Delivering goods by bike rather than car reduces the carbon footprint of orders.

The University's Printing Services team received a Highly Commended award in the Print Service of the Year category at the ACPME Conference in Norwich in June 2018 for introducing a cycle courier delivery service.

The service gives external customers the option to have printed goods delivered by bike rather than by van, significantly reducing carbon emissions.

The judges commented that they “chose the University of Edinburgh, for their environmentally sustainable cycle delivery initiative – reducing their carbon footprint and the environmental costs of their service across a wide area of the busy city”.

Printing Services now use the service when they have any suitable items for delivery to external customers.
