The University’s efforts continue to be recognised across a range of social responsibility and sustainability topics.

Green Gown Awards

Facilities and Services Award Winner in 2015 for Sustainable Laboratories programme. Student Engagement Award Finalist for student engagement outreach programme.

Guardian University Awards

The University's Sustainable Laboratories programme  was shortlisted for the Guardian University Awards and was recognised in the International Sustainable Campus Excellence Awards in 2015-16.

Athena SWAN Award

Edinburgh was successful in its submission for an Athena SWAN Institutional Silver award, only the 7th HEI to obtain this level in the UK, and the first in Scotland.

Visit Scotland's 'Taste our Best' Award

The University’s events and catering arm received Visit Scotland’s the ‘Taste our Best’ award for sourcing from local food and drink suppliers in Scotland and continues to be recognised by the Sustainable Restaurant Award scheme.  

Food for the Brain Award

The University has won a healthy eating award for the tenth year running. Edinburgh was recently awarded a prestigious accreditation from a national charity for providing its students with nutritionally healthy food. The Accommodation, Catering and Events team received the accreditation from Food for the Brain, a national charity that promotes the links between nutrition and mental health.
