Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Cary Krosinsky Lecture: Smart Divestment

Join us for this keynote from Cary Krosinsky, Lecturer, Yale College and Yale Climate and Energy Institute at Yale University and Adjunct Lecturer in International and Public Affairs at Brown University.

Environmental and social trends are of growing concern and have led to mostly negative strategies such as divestment from fossil fuel production but a second wave of positive sustainable investing is now showing that there is a path to better financial success that is also positive for society.

Brown University has adopted a positive approach towards sustainable investing that contributes towards addressing the challenge of climate change and the complications of addressing this as an investor.

This lecture will discuss Brown University’s approach and will touch upon the state of environmental, social and governance data, systems thinking, the value of tradeable assets and how to find the trillions of dollars required for the low carbon transition, including the pitfalls to watch out for.

This event is open to interested staff, students and members of the public. All welcome.

Doors will be open from 2pm, with the event starting promptly at 2:30pm.
