Bike powered cinema - Just Eat It: A food waste story

Join us during the Edinburgh International Science Festival for an evening of pedal powered cinema!

We will be screening the award-winning documentary Just Eat It, which explores the issue of food waste, a huge sustainability challenge facing society.

The screening will be powered by a row of volunteer cyclists at the back of you the room. Following the film there will be a panel discussion with special guest speakers, giving you an opportunity to ask questions and share insights.

Speakers include:

  • Hannah Milne, Senior Waste Project Officer, Changeworks
  • Christopher Somerville, Manager - FareShare Project, Cyrenians
  • Hassan Waheed, Trustee, Food Sharing Edinburgh
  • Alexis Heeren Projects Coordinator Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, University of Edinburgh (chair)

Organised in partnership with Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, Take One Action and Engineering for Change.

Doors open at 6pm, with the film starting promptly at 6.30pm.
