Gaelic Language Plans
In April 2011, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the public body established to promote Gaelic and improve the status of the language in Scotland, asked us to produce a Gaelic Language Plan.

Working Group

The Working Group is responsible for monitoring and reviewing the University's Gaelic Language Plan. The Working Group is responsible to the Central Management Group for the development and implementation of the University of Edinburgh’s Gaelic Language Plan.

Questionnaire

The University was successful in receiving part-funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig to run an all-staff and all-student questionnaire.

Public consultation

Students working toward the Edinburgh Award (Gaelic Outreach)
The University undertook a 6-week public consultation on its Gaelic Language Plan throughout June and July 2012.
