BSL Plan Introduction
The University of Edinburgh welcomes the British Sign Language (Scotland) Act 2015 and shares the Government’s aim to make Scotland the best place for Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users to work, study and visit.

Aims and implementation
We aim to provide a unique Edinburgh offer for all our students, and to benefit society as a whole. The University of Edinburgh BSL plan refers to all ten areas of the National BSL plan and includes actions to be taken by all parts of the University. This first BSL Plan sets out actions we will take over the period 2018-2024.

Review and renewal
We will review the University’s BSL plan each year. In the final year of the plan, we will review this plan and consult on the next one. This cycle of review and renewal will continue into future plans.
