To support and encourage staff to get more active during their working day, the University is supporting a number of walking groups at various University sites. These walking groups are simply a way of getting out and about at lunchtime and participating in walking as a means of getting healthier and fitter.
These groups aren't competitive and walks are at a comfortable pace. The walks are local to the area and will last 15-25 minutes, leaving plenty of time to have your lunch.
The groups are led by University staff who have an interest in walking and who have been fully trained as a walk leader by the Health and Safety Department.
The Easter Bush Campus travel map shows some walking routes which can be enjoyed as a lunchtime walk. The campus is situated in a beautiful rural area with plenty of walking routes immediately around the campus. Alternatively Roslin Glen is particularly scenic and only 2.5 miles from the campus.
